Jalan Miri-Pujut is an important access road in the city of Miri, Sarawak. Here, there is only 1 major road that travels across the entire city which is interconnects several stretches. The Jalan Miri-Pujut is one of these roads where it is very prominent because it is located in the heart of Miri city. Jalan Miri-Pujut comes from the west and starts after Jalan Miri-Bintulu and then terminates when this road convenes with Jalan Pujut.
Landmarks and Subroads
Jalan Miri-Pujut runs across the major commercial and corporate district of Miri city which means you will come across several very prominent landmarks along this road. At the intersection of Jalan Miri-Bintulu is the St Joseph’s Cathedral before you reach the Dynasty Hotel.
You will then reach Jalan Merbau which is where Bintang Megamall is located. Further into the northeast, you will reach the Jalan Ngo King Hi where there are several pubs like The Other Office and Grand Palace Hotel. After that, you will approach the Jalan Aster junction before reaching Boulevard Shopping Complex and the Assembly Hall of Church of God before this road terminates at the Jalan Pujut section.
Jalan Miri-Pujut is used by private and public vehicles to commute between home and work every day. It is used mainly by white collar workers as well as parents who are ferrying their children to and from school. This is somewhat different on Fridays and weekends when there is a large influx of people coming in from Brunei.
As Jalan Miri-Pujut is a two-way main road in the city, the traffic conditions here are quite straightforward. Rush hours are usually when the traffic is super peak. This happens to the flow into the city in the mornings and out of the city in the evenings. On weekends, the stretch along the shopping malls are super peak while it is moderate in other parts.
