Jalan Kelang Lama

Location
Jalan Kelang Lama which is known as Old Klang Road is one of the major roads in Kuala Lumpur. Located at the heart of the city, it is accessible via major expressways in the Klang Valley and is only 10 minutes away from the Golden Triangle. Old Klang Road is situated around the southern part of Kuala Lumpur where it is neighbours with suburbs like Subang Jaya, Puchong and Cheras. It is the one of the oldest roads in the Klang Valley which was constructed in 1965 and has been used by millions of motorists ever since.

Accessibility
Jalan Kelang Lama is a prominent road because besides offering connection for the people living around the suburbs of Klang Valley, it provides access to motorists from Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. On western end of this road is the gateway to Subang Jaya, Bandar Sunway and other parts of Petaling Jaya. It is through here that the road leads towards the Federal Highway that will lead to the likes of Shah Alam and Klang. Meanwhile, on the eastern end, Old Klang Road heads out to the other part of Federal Highway that leads to the city centre.

Landmarks
If you are coming in from the eastern side of Old Klang Road, you will notice the Tham Wah Temple shortly after entering. Besides that, the Vikas International School is located not far from here as well. SJK (C) Choong Wen, one of the prominent Chinese schools is located around the intersection with Jalan Kuchai Lama. There is an old wet market here located opposite Scott’s Garden, one of the recent additions to the entertainment scene in the Klang Valley. Further up is Pearl Point Shopping Mall and Hotel while Plaza OUG is a stone’s throw away, known for offering the residents a place to shop and dine.

Traffic Conditions
From the west, Jalan Kelang Lama experiences super peak traffic flow at the Kontena Nasional area before it becomes moderate and then peaks at the Desa Mentari area. After that, traffic flow becomes moderate and sometimes low congestion until Plaza Prima where it is peak at the intersection. At the Jalan Puchong, intersection, traffic flow is at peak level most times of the day because there are always a lot of vehicles traveling into the city via Jalan Kelang Lama. It then eases up until Scott’s Garden where it is super peak during the rush hours and peak during other times. From there, it is moderate until the Taman Desa intersection due to the traffic lights there. From there, the traffic flow is moderate all the way until it reaches MidValley MegaMall but is usually peak during the weekends.
