Most of the streets in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur are congested and heavy with traffic throughout the day with more prominence during the rush hours of the mornings and evenings. Jalan Ipoh is obviously among one of the busiest streets in the capital because along Jalan Ipoh is where many office, buildings, hotels and commercial areas are located.
Jalan Ipoh is one of the oldest and earliest settlements in the city of Kuala Lumpur. Hence, it is not surprising to find many pre-war structures that are still standing and being used today. Jalan Ipoh is a stretch that starts from Chow Kit and heads towards the Segambut areas.
It is known that Jalan Ipoh’s road is quite narrow as the retail shop-lots lined up on both sides have been there for many years. There are lampposts located on both sides of the road as well as in the centre. Jalna Ipoh is always congested. Vehicles are coming in from places like Kepong, Segambut and other areas towards the eastern region into the city centre in the morning and back in the evenings.
Dynasty and Grand Pacific Hotel is located along this stretch while there is a road that leads toward klPAC (Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre) here as well. Banks like Public Bank, CIMB and Maybank can be seen located along the stretch too while there are a lot of eateries like the very popular dim sum restaurants located towards the tail end of the street before heading out towards Kepong.
