Jalan Chow Kit is by far one of the oldest and most historical streets in Malaysia. This road is very busy throughout the day with hundreds of vehicles travelling along the offices and other commercial areas within the Klang Valley city centre. Jalan Chow Kit is situated right in the city centre where most of the commercial centres are located.
It connects many parts of the city centre between Bukit Bintang and towards suburbs like Damansara. In Jalan Chow Kit, there are a long stretch of retail outlets and shops where there are among some of the oldest shops in Malaysia today.
There is a Chow Kit Monorail station located here where passengers come from and towards other parts of the city centre. Along Jalan Chow Kit, there are a few hotels like the Cititel Express as well as a night market that comes alive at night.
The main stretch of Jalan Chow Kit is lined with lampposts on both sides of road. There are in total about 26 lampposts enacted along this street where advertising panels are mounted and visible to people in vehicles on the traffic jams here all day. Apart from that, due to the commercial centres here, there are a lot of people who travel here for work each day. Tourists are seen on foot along most of the shops and the pedestrian walkways that are available along this road as well where there is a Tune Hotel located towards the tail end of the street.
