Jalan Ayer Molek is one of the main roads in Johor Bahru. It plays a significant role to connect motorists and vehicle owners of the city center where it provide access to those coming in from the north to reach the city center and the central business region. Jalan Ayer Molek is very prominent in Johor Bahru not only because it is a main road but because it runs through several tourist attractions.

Landmarks and Subroads
Located on the western side of Johor Bahru town is Jalan Ayer Molek, one of the main roads around this end that connects the residents from places like Gertak Merah, Kampung Ayer Molek and the town centre. Jalan Ayer Molek is located around the outer boundaries of the Zaharah Botanic Gardens around Taman Istana. It is connected in the south with Jalan Ibrahim and Persiaran Tun Sri Lanang and passes by the Sultan Abu Bakar Monument. Then, there is an intersection that connects with Jalan Belukar in Taman Istana on the west and Jalan Dato Onn on the east that will then lead motorists towards the east.
Along the way, Jalan Ayer Molek will pass by the Johor Tourist Information Centre and Menara Tabung Haji JB before reaching the Jalan Engku Endut interchange. After that, Jalan Ayer Molek will pass by the National Registration Department before reaching the branch towards Jalan Khalid Abdullah. It will then come to a cross-junction where Jalan Ayer Molek will terminate. Here is where the Pulai Desaru Beach Hotel is located where vehicles will be connected with Jalan Seri Lanang on the east, Jalan Gertak Merah on the west and Jalan Yahya Awal toward the north.
Jalan Ayer Molek is mainly used by working adults who travel from the northern parts of Johor Bahru towards the city center. It is a crucial part of the city because it provides access for motorists to come in via Jalan Lingkaran Dalam before reaching towards the southern part of JB along Persiaran Tun Sri Lanang especially if they are planning to reach the western side of the city. Besides that, Jalan Ayer Molek is used by tourists and visitors to JB as there are several hotels and tourist attractions located here.
As a major bypass road in Johor Bahru, Jalan Ayer Molek experiences moderate to super peak traffic flows each day. At the tip of this road where Jalan Yahya Awal is located, the traffic flow is moderate during other hours and is super peak during the morning and evening rush hours. After that, the flow of vehicles become peak all the way until the end of Jalan Ayer Molek at the junction that connects to Jalan Ibrahim. This is where the traffic condition becomes super peak at most times of the day. On weekends meanwhile, traffic is moderate and can peak during the night.
