The Maju Expressway, known in short as MEX is one of the latest additions of highways in the Klang Valley. Used by around 2.1 million vehicles, it was formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Expressway as it was intended to connect people from the Klang Valley with Putrajaya and Sepang where KLIA and klia2 are located.
MEX is a 26-kilometer expressway that starts at the Kampung Pandan roundabout that connects Bukit Bintang and Pudu. Along the way, it has interchanges in Bukit Jalil and Sri Petaling before continuing towards Putrajaya where it has a connection with Cyberjaya and then on towards the administrative capital before convening with ELITE highway to lead to the airports.
The main group of people travelling along MEX are those who are coming from the likes of Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, Sri Petaling and Bukit Jalil into the city center while it is used by vehicles ferrying travellers who are heading to KLIA and klia2 on most days.
