The Federal Highway is probably one of the most important roads for urban travelers in the Klang Valley. Besides connecting urbanites between the city centre of Kuala Lumpur and cities like Shah Alam, Klang and Petaling Jaya, it is used by vehicles that travel between other states and the Federal Territory.
Each day, the Federal Highway is used by thousands of vehicles. The peak hours start in early morning which can be as early as 6.30am. That is when the traffic on both sides of Federal Highway start to pile up. It then goes on until about 10.30am. At around 4.30pm, the traffic congestion will start to build up again which goes on until about 10.00pm.
The morning and evening rush hours are when traffic flow is at the heaviest. However, Federal Highway experiences traffic jams at other times too.
This makes the Federal Highway one of the most highly-sought locations for billboard advertising. In fact, it houses one of the most expensive billboard locations in the entire country. This is most prominent in front of Angkasapuri and Mid Valley Shopping Centre. Meanwhile, the billboards around Amcorp Mall are quite popular as well.
If you are travelling to the city centre, you will find several billboards as you approach Klang Bus Stand while there are some along the side of Robson Heights too. On the other end, the unipoles outside Menara TM have high visibility and are very impactful. A new and large LCD screen was recently enacted not far from here.
