Jalan Kuala Berang – Terengganu


Jalan Kual Berang is a very prominent road in the state of Terengganu. It runs across almost the entire of the eastern state coming in from Jalan Sultan Mohamad in the north with suburbs like Kampung Tok Ku with Bukit Payong with Ajil in the south before reaching Kuala Berang towards the western region of the state.

Landmarks and Subroads
As you are coming in from Jalan Sultan Mohamad, you will be heading southwards in which there will be a lot of villages located along the way. This includes Kampung Wakaf Beruas, Kampung Gong Pauh, Kampung Gong Kiat and Kampung Padang Midin, among others.

Kuala Terengganu’s main access road

The Jalan Sungai Rengas junction is located not far from Kampung Gelugur Haji Tahir. Around the Bukit Payong area, you will reach the Jalan Pusat Giat Mara intersection where there are schools like Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Payong and Sekolah Kebangsan Bukit Payong. Further down south, you will come towards Masjid Padang Mengkuang.

Jalan Kuala Beruang is a very important access road as it connects people from all the villages to connect with the major towns like Kuala Terengganu and Kuala Berang. As the government offices are located in the capital, a lot of people from the public services will use this road each day while parents will be dropping and picking up their children from school.

Traffic Conditions
The Jalan Kuala Berang stretch coming in from the south is generally moderate to low most of the day except the intersections where the schools are located. This is where it is moderate and can peak at times.

Meanwhile, the stretch where the Jalan Sungai Ragas is located will experience peak traffic conditions mostly during the mornings and evenings while the T-junction at the Jalan Sultan Mohamad area is usually peak to super peak particularly during the rush hours most likely due to the spill over from the nearby villages.
